LemonBooking partnership with SumUp
We’re pleased to announce a new partnership with SumUp that gives LemonBooking customers reduced transaction fees and lower hardware costs, exclusively.
Under this agreement, LemonBooking customers pay just 1.29% on every card payment, whether it’s taken online or through a card terminal. With no fixed fees, SumUp is an ideal choice for venues handling small, frequent payments.
At the same time, we’ve expanded our SumUp integration so your customers can pay — online or in person — for facility hire, event tickets, membership (with recurring payments) and classes.

Here are some typical LemonBooking payments, comparing our partner rate for SumUp (1.29%) against Stripe and PayPal:

Pair a card reader to LemonBooking
Alongside online card payments, we’ve been given early access to a new feature that lets you pair LemonBooking directly with one or more Solo card readers.
Here’s how it works in practice:
- A customer arrives at your venue & wants to pay by card
- You find the invoice in LemonBooking & click "Take payment"
- LemonBooking instructs the paired card reader to take a payment
- The customer taps their card to pay
- The card reader reports the result to LemonBooking automatically
- The payment is saved, a receipt is generated & the invoice is marked as paid
- (Optional) The data is automatically exported to your accounting software
- (Optional) The payment can also be refunded automatically if required
Solo card readers
A paired Solo card reader can take payments for invoices, memberships, tickets, classes and ad-hoc charges. Please note: only Solo card readers can be paired with LemonBooking at this time.
LemonBooking customers also get a 10% discount on Solo card readers.
